Stormdrain Marking
Not everyone knows that you shouldn't dump oil, trash, grass or dirt down the stormdrain. SBEP, Sarasota County and Manatee County are looking for volunteers to assist with the stormdrain marking program to help education people about not dumping into stormdrains. We need volunteers to identify and properly mark stormdrains in the neighborhoods and communities in the Sarasota Bay watershed. If you are interested in volunteering please contact sara@sarasotabay.org or 941-955-8085.

Pet Waste Pollution Education - Pooches For the Planet
Did you know that pet waste is a significant source of nutrients and fecal coliform bacteria entering Sarasota Bay? Just like human waste, dog poop poses a threat to both public health and water quality.  Approximately 26 tons of pet waste is deposited on the ground in Sarasota and Manatee Counties every day! Unfortunately, this dog poop does not stay on the grass but gets washed down the stormdrains and delivered untreated to

the closest waterway during rain events.   Contact sara@sarasotabay.org to help educate dog owners about the proper way to dispose of pet waste and at the same time improve the water quality of our local waterways. Remember to Scoop That Poop!

Festival Staff
Like public speaking? Feel that Sarasota Bay is important? Want to educate and encourage others to help protect Sarasota Bay? Then volunteer for the SBEP Festival Taskforce. Taskforce members volunteer their time, energy and experience to SBEP to help get out information about how individuals can help the Bay. Taskforce members set up and staff an SBEP education booth at local events like Efest, Cortez Fishing Festival or Earth Day celebrations. This is a great family friendly way to volunteer! Training is included! If you are interested in volunteering please contact sara@sarasotabay.org or 941-955-8085.

Contacting Community Organizations
Like public speaking? Good at making connections? Then volunteer for SBEP! We need volunteers to help connect us with Neighborhood, Community and Condo Associations in the Sarasota Bay watershed. Volunteers identify and reach out to associations in the Sarasota Bay watershed for speaking and presentation engagements. Volunteers are trained on how to give presentations on SBEP and Sarasota Bay. Help connect the community with resources for action for Sarasota Bay! For more information contact sara@sarasotabay.org or 941-955-8085.
